  • Blocking is extremely important for dodging high damage output skills such as whirlwind or psionic blades as well as avoiding the petrifying poison from a rogue. Blocking at just the right time will allow you to get a perfect parry so don't just hold block

Universal information:[]

  • I.P.E or “Info, Plan, Execute” is a strategy that will lead you to success. The concept follows three phases.
  • Info: Collect all information you can about the party you’re about to engage with, Did you hear a fighter yell? A Cryomancers blizzard? How about the weapons, are they fighting PVP? Or other players.
  • Plan: Using the info you collected in the info phase to develop a plan to ambush or assault the opposing team, make sure to consider weapon ranges, tight spaces for AOE and any potential enemies you can pull to third party your enemies.
  • Execute: Enact your plan to take down the enemy, remember: things change in a fight, you may need to back off and regroup if things get dire, skill plays a huge part in Dungeonborne, so backing off and allowing yourself to re-develop a plan with the newly acquired information will make you much more deadly in combat.
  • Sword and Sorcery: Is two of the main components in dungeonborne, you’ll have your Active character skills and passive ability skills. Your characters skills are active ability effects and are very powerful abilities that will let you turn the tide in battle to your favor. Then you have your weapons that each come with their own unique weapon attack patterns and blocks, understanding the way your weapon blocks is an asset because you will be able to identify if your weapon can execute a “perfect Parry”. Perfect parries are blocks that are made within .5 seconds of the weapons connection. If you’re successful: Your next attack will be empowered on a successful perfect parry, as well as you will avoid all of the damage from the initial attack. Additionally, if your offhand is an orb, there will be more ways to use the weapon including a line of ice spikes from a mace or an ice glaive from a sword.
  • When blocking is useful: blocking is very important to use against certain high damage abilities such as a Whirlwind spin or a full volley of Psionic blades. Blocking will allow you to avoid almost all of the incoming damage from these abilities.
  • When are Heavy attacks useful: When you're using swords daggers and maces, you can use them as a "dash" for movement when someone is using abilities or weapon effects to slow you down such as Cryomancers blizzard, you can also use heavy attacks to counter blocking, as a charged attacks will penetrate a block and stun your opponent.
  • PVE basics: The most important thing to remember when dealing with AI is to keep your distance and take your time, rushing often leads to being hit in avoidable situations, keeping your health low for the next encounter. It's important to identify which enemies you’re comfortable with, and which ones you’ll need to avoid. Remember: it's better to take longer to kill the enemy and lose no health than to rush and get hurt.
  • Consumable synergy is an important way to use your consumables, such as drinking a health AND shield potion so you can increase your survivability in combat. Or using a stone shaping flask to limit the areas that they can run. While using AOE effects such as Cryomancers blizzard or a fighter whirlwind.

It's also recommended to pair the Ambush perk with the Evaporate perk, so you can reliably heal off of AI.
  • What can counter your abilities: Other players wielding crossbows or other ranged abilities will be able to de-petrify anyone you poison. Which can turn the tides back into their favor since you’ll be attacked on two fronts. You are not invisible with your E so highly lit areas will be tougher for you to traverse.

  • When to use your E: When you need to bring an enemy closer to you, isolating them from their team, or for pulling allies to you and out of dangerous situations.
  1. When in elf form: Use your stationary Treant to increase pressure on enemies, forcing them to move, as the Treant will relentlessly attack enemies within its range. If cast before transforming, you can use Shadow assault to have your treant immediately begin attacking any player hit
  2. When in panther form: This is an incredibly useful opening ability that allows you to engage a fight while also slowing your enemy so you can deal lots of damage quickly, you may also want to save this for disengaging in dire circ*mstances.
  • Recommended build: Builds that increase shadow damage will enhance your panther form, same with movement speed affixes, though as an assassin/mage class, you should be using a staff in your elf form to increase damage. Its recommended to use the Seed Pods perk that allows you to have 2 charges of your Treants.
  • What can counter your abilities: High mobility classes will be able to avoid Treant damage with relative ease, and high damage enemies will be a threat in your panther form, as it does not have much health.
  • Baiting out potential counters: It's recommended to use staffs and treants for damage against high health and damage enemies, while using your panther form to chase down backline mages.

Pyromancer:

  • When to use your Q: Your Q is going to be one of your main skills, you will be able to charge it to send out three small firebolts, or a large fireball based on the level charged, When fully charged, you can also initiate a high jump, allowing you to shoot past any obstacles in your path. When charging, you can absorb nearby flames from light sources to empower your fireball.
  • When to use your E: Your channeling will take some time, which will sacrifice distance between your opponent, your E will be useful to send your enemies away from you so you don't get rushed. Use this wisely.
  • Recommended build: Builds that increase Elemental or Fire damage are incredibly useful for this class, as nearly all of the damage you deal is from Fire based attacks. Its recommended to use the Iris of fire perk that will allow you to get passive damage, allowing you to channel a Fireball more effectively.
  • What can counter your abilities: Obstacles and areas with no torches lit will make your abilities far more difficult to use. Additionally, high impact ranged damage will cancel your channeling.
  • Baiting out potential counters: It's recommended to carry an extra pack of torches with you so you can create your own light sources to draw from. It’s also recommended to channel your abilities behind cover, and then swing out to fire.

Cryomancer:

  • When to use your Q: Your Q is an AOE CC spell that will slow enemies a significant amount. This is best used in tight spaces and chokepoints to slow enemies down and allow your allies to move in for an attack.
  • When to use your E: This ability is best used against heavy hitting attacks like whirlwind, giving you a few seconds for your team to rally around you and protect you from harm. This ability will not cancel your casting of Q.
  • Recommended build: Like the Pyromancer, any builds that increase cold damage dealt and elemental damage is an asset, utilizing an orb and dagger will allow you to more effectively slow enemies further enhancing your CC abilities, Pair this with the Cryotherapy perk to gain healing in your E after slowing enemies.
  • What can counter your abilities: Like the pyromancer, high impact ranged damage will cancel your channeling of spells.
  • Baiting out potential counters: Its recommended to charge behind cover and swing outwards, your Blizzard is not affected by obstacles, so if you feel in danger you can begin casting your Blizzard, and jump into your E to avoid damage, this will still channel the ability , allowing you some safety when the barrier wears off.

Priest:

  • When to use your Q: Your Q is your primary source of healing for you and allies, you can heal two allies at once, this also does damage so its smart to catch your allies and an enemy within it.
  • When to use your E: Your E is an important tool for damage avoidance, you can apply this shield to yourself or an ally to make them invulnerable to damage when they’re about to suffer a high damage attack. The shield lasts 3 seconds.
  • Recommended build: Builds that increase healing effectiveness will be useful, with your Q dealing damage to enemies, added holy damage is a plus as well. It's recommended to get the cleansing rites perk so you can cancel your allies' debuffs such as freezing or petrification.
  • What can counter your abilities: High movement speed characters will be able to avoid your Q’s damage since it activates after a delay. Instead use your Q on slower moving targets such as mages and frontlines.
  • Baiting out potential counters: Priests are advised to use the flicking technique for placing Oracles. If you look in one direction while channeling, the enemy will move away from that area, believing you are about to place an oracle, so with their momentum decided, you can place an oracle in the path they’re moving to in a flicking motion.
