This has a fiberglass Bobcat body and hood. The fenders and grille could be, too. Has some odd front shock mounts.

“Just in time for Fall Hunting and Pumpkin Chunkin!

Thinning the collection of vehicles and the Willys is next to go.
She had frame off resto in 2006. this included…

Frame –
Stripped down to frame – welded all holes and cracks – Painted with OD Green Lacquer
Suspension reworked with lifted springs and a spring-over – Painted with OD Green Lacquer

Body –
Nice fiberglass tub painted with bed liner, now white plastic dip. Since its fiberglass there is no rust and since it weighs virtually 200 lbs, this thing hauls ass up until 35-40mph. Not geared for highway use.

Doesn’t run.

“Rare Jeep FC-170, complete truck, but realize this is a project, I pulled it out of a field in Kansas this last April, where it sat for 22 years. I have a title but it is a Kansas title in the original owners name. The truck has some questionable body work(Bondo) but it is all there. IT DOES NOT RUN NOR DOES IT HAVE BRAKES. The original 6 cyl motor is free and with some gas and a battery it should start, as the carb has been rebuilt, has new wires and plugs, and fresh oil. I have the original Jeep Rims and other parts that will go with it. I lost interest in this and just would like to move it along, price is negotiable but don’t make any offers with out coming to look at it, Cash only!! ”

The seller said that this has coil springs between the leaf springs and frame. There is some bondo and rust. The tub is resting on some lumber that’s wedged between the frame and tub. It has sat since the 1980s. The engine might be a GPW/MB. It runs and shifts ok, but needs new brakes, master and tires at the very least.

“Original Jeep Willys CJ2A with all original parts. 6 volt system, all glass is good. Motor was replaced in 1974 and was military surplus remanufactured engine. Less then 5000 miles on the engine. Last plated in 1987. Been garage stored with plans to restore until just last week. Great candidate for restoration. Drove from storage to current location. Starts right up. Needs brakes, tires, gas tank repaired and a battery. Will need to be trailered to new home. ”

(08/23/2016) The chassis is from a CJ-2A.

“I have a 1942 Willy MB project. I do not have the time or space to complete this the way I would like it. I have all the components, hood, grille, fenders, tub, frame, wheels/tires, seat, fuel tank, steering shaft and wheel, axels, motor and transmission. The frame is from a 1947 CJ-2 I was modifying it to be like the 1942 frame. This is where I have run into trouble the frame is setup for the T-90 transmission not the T-84 I want to have on it. I also have another motor. It is title and registered. Engine does run. Everything is apart right now waiting for the right person to complete. ”

On Tuesday we drove from Dallas to Denham Springs, Louisiana. The drive itself was uneventful, but not without its challenges:

Our drive from Dallas to Denham Springs, LA.

Uh oh … this is a tight squeeze!!

1) When returning the rental car we had for two days, I was driving the motorhome andmissed the turn for car rental returns. Instead, I headed straight towards Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport…….. There were no other options. I had to drive very slowly going through the concrete barriers to get my entry ticket.I fit, but barely. I estimate that I had two inches on either side of the motorhome. Ann was behind me and took a photo. Well, I did have to sacrifice a little bit of the generator tailpipe, which apparently stuck out the side a little too far.

eWillys | Your source for Jeep and Willys deals, mods and more (35)

Hmm … something’s not quite right, but it will work.

2)I turned over the driving to Ann after we left Dallas so I could get some eWillys done. I took off my wedding ring to type (which I always do) and set it in front of me on a sweater. That sweater got upended at some point and the ring rolled somewhere in the motorhome. Sigh.
3) When we arrived at the KOA trailer park about 9pm (reserved and paid for a site),we discovered thestaff had left NO check-in info, so we took the LAST available site even though earlier in the day the reservations gal saidonly a back-in sit was available.
4)It seems this park includes muchof Baton Rouge. We’re guessing a good number of these folks are recent flood victims 🙁
5) Our trailer neighbors just got done partying, but left a friend passed out on the bench 5 feet from our door. The scene is complete with bottles scattered everywhere. Oh well. Maybe they are finally watching the toddlers that were running in front of our rig asI tried to park it.
6) On the opposite side of us was a couple from New York who asked for help getting their cable to work.We were never able to make that work.
8) Our trailer wasinvaded by some local bug life as we searched for my ring.

Yet, we are still having fun. It’s all part of the adventure!! Once we get done with our visit, we have to decide how to proceed home. We are unsure of which route to take.

UPDATE: **Status Unknown** Was For Trade.

It’s a project.

“I’ve got this cool old truck ive been tinkering on for a year now. Ive replaced various things and though it runs good when it runs, i just can’t get it right. Its got lots of rust and some body damage but all the parts are there except for the bed. Original gas tank was hopeless so it’s running off a fuel cell. Its got 2 inch wheel spacers to accommodate the larger tires but still have the original rims. Its a one ton.
This truck would make a really cool hunting rig or just something to drive around in the mountains if you want to put the work into it. It IS a project. They’re quite rare. Have clean title in hand.

Id like to trade this for a good running 3/4 ton or better truck.
The bigger the better, needs to pull a travel trailer. Im open to an suv or even a van if its heavy and in good shape.
I don’t know what the truck’s worth but i dont want to trade for anything with major issues. I don’t mind something ugly. Just depends what it’s worth to you. Please send pics. Thanks for reading.”

Sides are rough according to seller.

“This is a world war II jeep tub. Good for parts or for a retro rockcrawler project. no data plates, no script, 1943 or 44.
tub sides are bondo. looks good in the picture but sides are rough. cowl is great. floor is rusty. This is a fab situation, not bolt on.
I will help you load this or deliver locally if necessary. i can’t help you if your wife gets mad. mine will be happy its found a new home.

folks always ask if I have other ww2 jeep parts. I have center parts of a cut frame (no front or rear), a front axle, hood that Is covered in bondo and that’s about it.

IF THIS AD IS UP, ITS AVAILABLE. Email me pls, that’s how I communicate best. don’t ask if its available. come look at it. ”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $400.

It’s a parts jeep. There could be some value here.

“1956 Willys Jeep CJ2A for parts or restoration if you are ambitious. This was originally used at the airport as a baggage conveyor in the 50’s and 60’s. It was running as late as 1995. The passenger side of the body was modified for the conveyer. The engine, transmission, transfercase, front axle, steering, brakes, frame seat, gas tank and dash are intact. The rear end has been removed but there is one loose that appears to be for a Jeep. It comes with original documents and bill of sale from the airport. It was not titled since it was not intended to be driven on the street. You will receive a bill of sale. You will need to be able to load it onto a trailer for transport.

Email if interested and for more information. We will be available Friday 9/30 to 10/2 and can show it at that time. It is located near downtown Eugene. ”

My niece Holly showing us around SMU’s stables and arena.

On Monday we hung around the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Today we are heading for Baton Rouge, Louisiana. (See Monday’s post here: http://www.ewillys.com/2016/09/26/goodbye-west-texas-hello-wet-texas/)

First we went south to Fort Worth. My mid afternoon we were back at the motorhome. Then, we left for Dallas for a few hours.

On Monday I had a carefully orchestrated plan, had being the operative word. Things went awry early in the morning. First, was learning that the Cowgirl museum and Bowling museums in Fort Worth were closed on Mondays. Drats! Then, someone who she remained unnamed announced she didn’t want to go to any more museums. Oh, the joys of travel companions! But, then we discovered that the Fort Worth Bureau of Engraving and Printing was open on weekdays. Everyone was fine with that, so we were off (two hours later than planned).

As we were getting in the car, we realized that our shirts were appropriate for Texas.

Before visiting the mint, we decided to head downtown Fort Worth while traffic was light to see the Fort Worth Water Gardens. They turned out to be really cool!

One of the park entrances.
