The Castle of Muskogee is a vast fairground that hosts the famous Oklahoma Renaissance Festival from late April to Memorial Day, as well as numerous other events throughout the year. Dedicated to promoting arts and culture in the Muskogee community, the multi-purpose 37,000square-foot fairground features a large banquet hall, stages, various buildings, and a variety of inflatable garden decorations. In addition to the annual Renaissance Festival, the venue hosts other major festivals like the Halloween Festival, Castle Christmas, Castle Zombie Run, and the Boares Head Feast.

The USS Batfish is a submarine that is famous for sinking three Royal Japanese Navy submarines in 76 hours during the Second World War and is now on permanent display at the War Memorial Park. The submarine is set on land as a museum and a memorial to those who lost their lives during the war and is open for visitors to explore and learn more about the vessel and life on board for the crew who called her home. The Muskogee War Memorial Park museum also features a collection of over 4,000 artifacts, items and objects dedicated to the vessel and its important role in military history, and the history of Muskogee.

Honor Heights Park is a 132-acre arboretum and botanical garden on Honor Heights Drive and a jewel in Muskogee’s park system. The park features a variety of gardens, including the Conard Rose Garden, Elbert L. Little, Jr. Native Tree Collection, the C. Clay Harrell Arboretum, and the Art Johnson Memorial Dogwood Collection. Other features in the park include the Rainbow Division Memorial Amphitheater, five lakes, and ponds with fishing docks, three tennis courts, a children’s playground, a splash pad, two picnic shelters, a pavilion, gazebos and picnic areas, and a gift shop. The park is also home to several hiking trails, including the Audubon Trail, the Henry Bresser Nature Trail, and the half-mile Stem Beach Trail.

The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame celebrates the music industry and honors Oklahoma musicians for their lifetime achievements in music. Established in 1997, the Hall of Fame showcases over 65 individuals and groups who have shaped the music industry into what is it today, as well as produced more than 40 concerts. Housed in the historic Union Indian Agency building in Honor Heights Park, the Five Civilized Tribes Museum is dedicated to the culture and heritage of several tribes from the region. Founded in 1966, the museum documents the arts, crafts, culture, and history of the Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Muscogee, and Seminole tribes. The museum houses an extensive collection of arts and crafts, baskets, wood carvings, paintings, traditional costumes and headdresses, and documents relating to the Five Civilized Tribes. The Three Rivers Museum of Muskogee is dedicated to the history and heritage of the American frontier in the Three Rivers area where the Arkansas, Verdigris and Grand Rivers meet. Housed in the beautifully restored Midland Valley Railroad Depot, the museum features a collection of documents, stories, artifacts, and objects that highlight the multi-ethnic history of the region. The signature piece in the collection is a magnificently restored 1940s era diesel switch railroad engine, and the museum is open Wednesday through Saturday.

Based on the campus of the historic Bacone College, the Ataloa Lodge Museum is dedicated to the culture and history of Native America. Built in 1932 as an art lodge, the museum is named in honor of Mary Stone McLendon ‘Ataloa’ who contributed towards the building of the lodge and houses a vast collection of more than 20,000 pieces of contemporary and traditional Native American art. Exhibits include a large collection of paintings, Kachina Dolls, Civil War memorabilia, and ceremonial items. The Ataloa Lodge Museum acts as a genealogical resource for local schools and offers a range of educational programs and workshops.

The Grant Foreman Historic Home dates back to 1897, when it was built on a small piece of land which was sold to Judge John Robert Thomas by Chief Pleasant Porter. At the time there were no other buildings nearby. The Judge set to work building a home for himself and his daughter Carolyn, who later married the historian Grant Foreman, for whom the house was subsequently named. Both Carolyn and Grant Foreman were historians who produced many books on Oklahoma History. The house is filled with many of their personal belongings including Native American Art, books, documents and photographs.

The vines which produce the grapes used to make the Pecan Creek range of wines where planted on 3 acres of land along the Arkansas River in 2012. In the early days, while the young vines matured, the winery bought in grapes from various other vineyards in the Ozark Mountain area. Today the winery produces a wide range of award-winning wines spanning several varietals, from their own vineyards. Most of the range is only sold online or from the winery Tasting Room. Visitors are invited to stop by for a tasting and to join the exclusive Wine Club, which promises early access to new vintages and special tastings.
